Thanks for the luck wishes, but I'm not getting into any new relationships other than camaraderie with a bar buddy and that has no romantic future. The other guys are old friends/clients, one of which I'm getting back into contact with. Just for clarification. ;)

Thankfully that wasn't my dog but just one I was caring for while the owner was away. Such a snippety little thing with the most vicious snarl for her size. She's spoiled beyond belief by her family and I'd say it's doubtful she's ever been subjected to abuse.

Someday I hope to meet someone capable of living with me too. lol But I'm set in my ways, overly talkative, and actually rather private in some respects. Plus my cats destroy everything and my rats freak people out. Not having to share a bathroom and limited cabinet space with another person is a true blessing too.

My wife and I had a similar situation with a dog we took in that had been abused by the previous owner. No matter what we did the dog would still bite us. My wife was even a dog trainer at the time and we still couldn't correct his behavior. In the end we found a lady that was willing to take him despite his "issues". As for moving and departing with material possessions, it's a tricky business, more than once I've thrown out something only to buy it again later. Before my wife and I got together, I never had a roommate. Although it costs more and can get lonely at times, I doubt anyone but my wife could stand to live with me. Best of luck with the new place and the (possibly) new relationship.
