Stupid busy lately. It won’t abate anytime soon. ‘Tis the busy season. Back to homework now.

Monday Morning
Woke up this morning to my alarm blaring Carrie Underwood: “I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights / Slashed a hole in all four tires / Maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats…” Then the breast center and a couple dayjob clients called. Little or no sleep for the wicked. And no escaping rainstorms either.
Time to face the new week.
Ooookay…
Weird ass bunch of people. I joined a site called SOTT.net (stands for Signs of the Times) a good while back and very rarely have time to visit it and sort through it’s plethora of theories, assertions, and recommended reading material, but I did give it a go and read what I could. Today I visited their site again and replied to responses posted way back when that I thought were rather rude. Then they banned me.
It truly was an innocent exchange where I managed two comments, both asking what their forum sees as a distinction between the terms “sociopath” and “psychopath” since they made a big deal about it, and they banned me outright — even as they replied on the board, disallowing me to respond at all. When I checked their forum’s help section to find out how to contact the administrators, no contact information could be found. But it’s early and I’m very tired and may not be seeing straight.
Not sure if you can read their forum without signing up to become a member, but the threads in question are:
What a strange bunch. I’m trying to research subjects to improve my understanding and they ban me for a ridiculously mild disagreement and for having an opinion (“As long as you’ve been a registered member, you’re probably aware of our position on opinions.”)?? All righty, gestapo. I’ll show myself to the door. (
)
What a major overreaction from wannabe-intellectual elitists. I mean, come on — one of the threads linked above claimed (in all seriousness) that Phil Donahue, Ralph Nader, and Naomi Wolf are all psychopaths, along with a looong list of other public figures.
Besides, what’s the point of gathering all that information if you’re not open to creating a dialogue and sharing the wealth with curious newcomers? I truly meant no harm, and my comments didn’t warrant such a hostile reaction. BUT since they took it upon themselves to behave like snobs, they can suck an egg.
Today’s News
Made bruschetta today, which came out pretty good. Not quite as tasty as last time, but still good. Drove around with a friend for a little while this afternoon and attempted to burn a CD to listen to in my car, to no avail. The car stereo isn’t CDRW-compliant. POS. Gotta find a way to switch the format to WAV files or to somehow fool my car into thinking this is a regular disc. Where there is a will, there’s generally a way.
Not sure what to do with myself this evening. So slow and sluggish. Been avoiding the gym for more than a week now. hehe Stayed up late last night talking with a neighbor, which is always nice. Found out Obama’s wanting people to report others who spread “misinformation” about his healthcare proposal. That’s not cool at all, though not too terribly surprising.
The White House Blog has this to say on August 4th, 2009:
There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.
Then the White House sets about providing us a “Reality Check” on healthcare reform. Nice. Weird.
An afternoon of pampering
Hello everybody.
I am currently in the process of redying my hair, as has been the routine for many, many years (not even sure exactly what my natural haircolor is supposed to be, hehe). Read the rest of this entry »
Back around again
Back from my travels and feeling fairly melancholy the past couple of days, missing my family. I did talk to grandma and papa on the phone today and yesterday though, but leaving felt like returning to loneliness. Solitude suited me before I left, but now it’s driving me slightly nuts. Ah well…takes a few days to adjust coming and going.
I really don’t want to think about any of that right now, having already written some on it elsewhere and wanting this knot in my stomach to subside. It’s always tough leaving them, making me feel guilty for not living closer and helping out more. Can’t win for losing some days. *sigh* Read the rest of this entry »
The time’s approaching
Heading out of town soon and keeping busy over here. Has it all been pleasant? No chance, but things aren’t bad right now. Had some interesting conversations with my clients and other hobbyists and been doing a lot of thinking about my role in the industry, like usual. I could gripe and tell you stories, but it’s getting late and I’d rather not tonight.
I’m coming to believe some men were put on this planet for the sole purpose of pissing womankind off. hehe But then there are the good ones, my boys, who keep me in the game. Nothing major is going on, just pondering why we all do what we do.
Another time…this week is about preparing to see my people (my family). Just have lots swirling in my mind, tempting me in 40 different directions when I don’t feel like tackling even one topic right now. No, tonight is about music, pizza, and planning. Man drama can wait.
Typical Friday Night
Just chilling after my friend took off. We went out for dinner earlier to one of our favorite restaurants and I am stuffed and sleepy. No rest for the wicked though. Tried lying down to no avail; the sound of sirens wailing on a nearby street wafting in through the open windows disrupted the attempt to call it an early night. So here I am again, like usual, blogging.
Wouldn’t rather be doing anything else since I’m pretty well married to the computer. hehe
Off to find something entertaining and/or useful to read.
Home again, home again, jiggity-jig
Just got in after intending to be back around midnight. I was with a client, one I haven’t seen in at least 2 years. Read the rest of this entry »
Back to meandering…
Life’s too serious at the moment. Need to liven it up a bit. Tina Turner’s singing “Rolling On the River” on the radio and the moon is nearly full tonight. For some folks today is Easter, for some it’s a celebration of the spring equinox.
For me it’s just a holiday others take so I obligingly go along, though I do have a short appointment later in the day. If ya’ll want to rest and celebrate that’s cool with me. I’m always looking for new reasons to celebrate. Read the rest of this entry »
Quick Update
As weird as things have been lately, I’m actually in a decent mood. Very grateful for my friends and family, buddies, galpals, means of income, pets (especially this kitten clawing my back right now), health, the Internet. The new apartment is working out well, and it’s great having my car back from the shop. I cannot complain much on the personal front.
Just trying to make my thanks known to myself and to others. Read the rest of this entry »
And the globe keeps spinning…
Just got in and settled for the evening. One of my galpal’s grandma died so I hung out with her for a couple of hours tonight. That’s such a bummer situation for her. Read the rest of this entry »
In for the night
One of my galpals was sick and couldn’t make it out tonight, so I stayed in and had a guyfriend over to finally watch the Patsy Cline documentary. DVD player hasn’t been working.
Anyway, I’m sorting through escort listings and sites, figuring out where to put up ads and where to avoid. Some of the places I used in the past to advertise on no longer hold appeal.
The kettle of water is on the stove for cocoa and I’m setting up to spend the rest of what’s left of the night on the computer, deciding on other blog content. This blog may fall to the wayside temporarily since my priorities are elsewhere.
Keeping busy
Yesterday and today have been productive and busy. Read the rest of this entry »
Thirsty or Retarded?
Out driving to the gas station in subzero temperatures to get a 6-pack of Bud Light. Pretty sure that makes me one of those people. ![]()
BUT, at least I didn’t go to a bar! That must count for something considering how fidgety I am tonight. Read the rest of this entry »
